Sugar Rationing Not About to End

Sugar shortage in East Africa

Sugar rationing will continue until the government comes up with a permanent solution to address the current shortage.

Nakumatt supermarket Managing Director Atul Shah says you will still be limited to buying two packets of sugar at its outlets. He says supermarkets aren’t receiving enough stock from millers and distributors resulting in the rationing.

In Nakuru, some supermarkets do not allow customers to purchase sugar as the only product, causing more difficulties to the consumers.
