Kenyans win big on Google Application Challenge.

Two Kenyan application developers, Gerald Kibugi who developed Shoppers Delight application, and David Lemaiya Olalashe developer, earned each Ksh 2.3 million. This was after they emerged among the winners in just concluded Google’s Android Developer Challenge in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Out of 29 finalist in the challenge that started in April, three applications where chosen with the third going to Afrinolly of Nigeria.

With international companies showing interrest on local applications and Softwares, it is expected to transform the countries IT and communication and achievement of economic goals for the country and the developers.

The money will be used to develop the ideas into viable business with Google not having any stake in the companies.

All the winning applications will be available on the android platform.
