2012 in review. Top Five Events.

31 Dec

As we welcome the year 2013, we can review some of the major events of 2012. Sorry to the guys who thought the world will end in 2012.

Fall of Kismayo

Our armed forces took Kismayo without firing a single bullet in an armphous attack with the Kenya Defense Forces lossing only 20 men — five of them on home soil in a chopper mishap — during a year of battle.

Peeling back the mask

Miguna Miguna must be Kenya’s person of the year whit his book ” Peeling back the mask” which everyone has an opinion about with very few of us actually reading it. Peeling back the mask must have been the most critiqued book in Kenyan literature history. That’s not to say we love our books more than our politicians.

London Olympics

Kenya went to the Olympics brimming with confidence of Gold and Silver and came back wit dismal performance. While on this, Olympic steeplechase gold medalist Ezekiel Kemboi proved that no one really cares how you dance when you are the winner. David Lekuta Rudisha delivered under pressure at the London games to give Kenya the 800m gold and salvage our Olympic pride.

The striking year

The nation’s workforce was on strike for the better part of the year.

Turkana Oil

Oil was discovered in Turkana and confirmed. Or was that 2011? Anyways you guys have yourself a peaceful 2013.
